HOW YOU CAN HELP!

YOU CAN BE A CATERPILLAR TOO!

*LAST UPDATED 7/21/97*

This summer there will be two additional expeditions to search for lost WWII airplanes lost during training missions in 1944.

A)  One plane crashed into Lake Ontario directly off of Sandy Pond, on June 23, 1944. We believe the plane is in 40 - 50' of water opposite the channel into Sandy Pond. How can YOU help?

1)  Possibly an airplane or ultralight flying over the area may spot the wreckage. I would be happy to show anyone interested in helping us locate this plane the spot from the air!

2)  Possibly local fishermen have hooked the wreckage, or know of a place in the general area where they show a large blip on their fish finders. Any information would be helpful.

B)  The second crash site is in Oneida Lake off of Constantia. The crash report places the location 1/2 mile off shore from Doris Park at a spot called the "Sand Bar". If anyone is interested in going on a dive or wants to help with a boat for a trip this summer, please let me know!!

Why do I search for these lost airplanes? A passage from Ezekiel 34 sums it up best:

"So they were scattered, without a shepherd. They have become a prey to every animal that comes along. My sheep wandered through the mountains and hills and over the face of the earth, and there was not one to search for them or care about them....For the Lord God says:  I will search and find my sheep. I will be like a shepherd looking for his flock. I will find my sheep and rescue them from all the places they were scattered in that dark and cloudy day.
